Research Exercises DUMB WAYS TO DIE

working on creating my own dummb ways to die character.
I set myself the task of modeling him, making him dance and creating a small cartoon strip.

The creator on DWTD produced his work on Flash, I however found it easier building him in illustrator and importing him into after effects to Rig and animate.

Scene Animation Personal Project

So i really want to push my 2D to the next level and im bored of watching all these shorts with no dialogue, so I'm going to try and animate a short scene of a chipmunk and a scientist based on dialogue from back to the future. The scientist is making an oldschool tin tin rocket ship and the chipmunk has come down from his tree to check it out.
This will be the opening shot, I've set myself two weeks.

The cat project

This is my new project where I'll be working on animating cats and other 4 legged animals this year and getting to grips with the rules.
Firstly with cats the top tips I've learnt today are.
The back legs are usually stiffer than the front when in motion.
The front legs float when lifted( shoulder movers down)
The top and the wrist bones are best kept parallel

Painting Groot

Project Sign off.
Today I am pretty happy with Groot and I think Im done here.

Finally Put aside my other projects to finish Groot. I might be half done.

So This week I am working on a painting on Groot, a character from the comic and James Gunn film Guardians of the Galaxy.
Here are the current foundations i have done and will be working over.
Tree roots are pretty tricky and time trying to spend as much time on them as I can. It'll be a long while for this painting is finished but i think the rewards will pay off.
